What was I supposed to accomplish and how? I was to search for and find an appropriate lesson plan from an internet source. Then I was to evaluate the plan's quality and technology integration, and propose changes to the lesson plan.
What did I learn (growth/progress)? I located multiple sites which contain a wide variety of lesson plans. I bookmarked my favorites. Also, I practiced analytical thinking by identifying strengths and weaknesses in the plan. I learned that lesson plans do not necessarily need to be made from scratch.
What should I have done differently? I need to work on my efficiency in crafting lesson plans, navigating between multiple sites. I tend to be somewhat slow. This will be a hindrance during the busy school year.
Why is this artifact important to my targeted career? Being able to locate, select, and modify existing lesson plans is a hugely important skill set for any teacher. Many other teachers who have "gone before us," have designed wonderful lesson plans on innumerable topics. We and our students can benefit from there work and experience. Studying the plans of other teachers helps spark our imagination so that we are better able to expand existing plans and create new plans.
